In last week’s article on the closing of the Sandstone driver’s license exam station, it was reported that license renewal and the purchasing of tabs would also need to be done in the new Moose Lake or the existing Pine City location. This information was incorrect and received from a public information officer from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. They sent the corrected information, unfortunately, after the paper had been printed.
Pine County residents will still be able to register their vehicles (or ATV/Boat/Snowmobile), renew driver’s licenses or receive a duplicate, renew tabs, get license plates and placards, replace registration, or a title transfer with the Deputy Registrar at the DMV in Sandstone. This office is privately-run and located on the second floor of the Sandstone City Hall at 119 North 4th St., Sandstone. The office can be reached at (320) 245-5297.
