Making a difference in the community

Editor's Note

This is the fourth installment of a series on the volunteers at the Hinckley Fire Museum. Watch next week's issue for the next profile.

Barb and Greg Loiselle are this week’s featured volunteers at the Hinckley Fire Museum. The Loiselles currently live in Cloverdale, but grew up in St. Louis Park, Minn. They have been volunteering at the museum as Depot Agents for about six years. Greg also helps with maintenance around the building. Barb has been in charge of the gift shop and has been on the board of directors for about 14 years.

Before retirement, Barb was a homemaker and school bus driver. Greg is a retired police officer.

Steve Johnson recruited them to volunteer at the museum. What keeps them coming to help? They enjoy volunteering and love meeting the people that come in.

“You meet so many nice people here,” said Barb. “If you want to get out and meet new people, learn more about the incredible story of the Hinckley Fire and made a difference in your community, come and join us!”

One of the things that interests the Loiselles the most is that the fire only lasted for four hours, but burned over 400 square miles.
